Street Rod Pinewood Derby Standings

Car Body / Dimensions

Wheel Base : You can not alter the wheel base with respect to the wheel openings of the car body
Height : Not to exceed 4″ inches…
Length : Limited to model length.  No extension.
Width : Not to exceed 3.5″ inches
Weight : Not to exceed 6.0 ounces (170 grams) 1/10th Digital scale used

You can only use 1/25th or 1/24th scale models that are no longer than 8.25″. NO EXTENDERS only model body original length. NO SLOT CAR LEXAN BODIES!!!

Original windshields, roofs, doors, fenders, grills, hoods, trunks and main body parts must be used (No chopping up, stretching, piecing together or hacking the body).  No drilling out or cutting holes in the back of the car.  Tail lights need to be attached.

NO OPEN WHEELED CARS

NO CONVERTIBLES

Cars must have windshields installed

NO GUIDE PINS/FINS!

Car must have at least 4 axles and wheels and only 3  wheels must touch.

The axles and wheels must be attached to the side of the car body / frame in the original wheel wells and/or fenders / no more than a 10 degree angle.

Car must be raced in a forward orientation.

Tape can be used only to hold the body to the chassis and cover the bottom but not to create aero advantages.

Center Rail Height : 1/4″ inch ( 7mm ) *
Center Rail Width : 1 5/8″ inches (4.2 cm) *

* Wheels must clear the outside to outside center rail width measurement

Axles

a. Minimum diameter .084
b. Axles must have a nail head

Wheels

BSA, Maximum Velocity, Awana, Pinecar

a. May be CnCed, lathed, polished and/or sanded to true the edge of tread, surface and circumference
b. The tread / contact surface must remain flat and parallel to the bore as humanly possible
c. No Angling, Reshaping, Canting, Round Crowning, Tapering, H-ing, V-ing, Dishing, the outside of the wheels and/or tread surface
d. No removing the letters or spokes.  All lettering must remain on the inside and outside of the wheel.
e. Wheel covers may be used only if entire wheel is visible
f. 7.50mm Minimum Tread Width
g. Wheels must weigh at least 2 grams and a wheel can be removed after the race to be weighed to confirm weight. They cannot be intentionally taken under 2 grams and then brought back up to weight with foreign material.

The following Modifications are not allowed

a. Starting or finish line devices
b. Electronic or lighting devices
c. Glass or extremely fragile parts
d. Paint that is wet, smudges or extremely sticky
e. Bearings and/or Bushings
f. Sharp objects, sandpaper or abrasives on the bottom of car (We do not want any damage to the rubber stopping pads)
g. Axles and/or wheels attached to any device that mechanically or alters rotation and spin
h. Any part of the car to go beyond the starting peg
